I would normally keep estate planning documents either in a safe deposit box or a fireproof safe in your house. Really the best place is a fireproof safe in your house and make sure that whoever you have as your executor either, knows where the safe is and has a key or, if in the case of a safety deposit box, that you've listed them as someone who's authorized to access the safety deposit box. If you don't do that and the will is in the safety deposit box, then that person will have to file a motion within the court to gain access to the safety deposit box which will increase the expense of probating your estate.
