What Authority Do I Have As Executor Or Administrator To Manage An Estates Assets?
In the case where there's a will, the will will determine what powers the executor has. Typically they're all the same. In the event that either the will does not tell you what powers you have or in the case of administration, then the probate code will determine what powers you have. And some powers you can exercise without court approval and some powers you have to exercise with the approval of the probate or county court judge.
