How Can An Estate Plan Make Things Easier On My Family After I Die?
Probating a will is a lot less expensive than having to probate an estate without a will. To the extent that your desire is to not cost your family a bunch of money after you die to settle your estate, that would be one reason. If you put all of your assets into a trust and all that is done validly, accurately and the property is properly transferred, then that also might help to avoid even having to go through the probate process at all. So an estate plan can help you do that and it could often save you money. That would be a good reason to do that.
